Don Allen, P. E.
Don Allen currently serves three active roles for the steel industry: Technical Director of the Steel Stud Manufacturers Association, Director of Engineering for the Steel Framing Alliance, and Secretary for the Light Gauge Steel Engineers Association, a council of the Steel Framing Alliance. Mr. Allen has worked for a product manufacturer, a specialty engineer, and full-service structural engineering firm before his current affiliation with the steel industry.

J. Patrick Boyd, P.E.
Pat Boyd is the owner of J. Patrick Boyd Consulting Engineers specializing in design calculations and engineered drawings for the use of cold-formed steel framing in commercial applications. His past experience includes positions with KHS&S Contractors, Ray Boyd Plaster & Drywall, Inc., and Delta Steel Buildings Company.

Pat was President of AWCI from 2002-2003, served 2 terms on the AWCI Board of Directors, been Chairman of numerous committees, and was awarded the Outstanding Young Member 1983-84. He was President of the Texas Lathing & Plastering Contractors Association in 1981-82.

Both instructors are experts in the field of CFS design and construction and bring a wealth of experience and insight to the seminar.
