TopStop™ Head-of-Wall Insulation, new from Thermafiber, improves the consistency of completing head-of-wall assemblies.
Specifically engineered to provide fire barrier protection at the top of wall assemblies, TopStop Boards are formed to fit the contour of roof deck or floor/ceiling corrugations. Edges are angled at 108o so that compression of the batt is equalized and the void is uniformly filled.
Three standard board sizes are available to fill corrugations from 4 1/2" to 7" wide at the base. TopStop forming strips with thicknesses of 5/8" or 1 1/4" and widths of 2" or 4" are also available for plugging openings at the tops of partition walls or to add more fill material anywhere it is needed. All the boards are 36" long.
