Cemco’s Firestik™ is a head-of-wall firestop listed with UL and Warnock Hersey that outperforms the stringent requirements of UL 2079. Firestik™ outperforms the movement capabilities of existing spray and caulk assemblies, providing firestop protection for head-of-wall gaps accommodating deflection in stud/gypsum or CMU/block assemblies requiring up to +/– 1/2" movement or 1" overall.
Assemblies using Firestik™ require no sprays, caulks, drywall rips, castle cuts, flute plates or custom track profiles and experience no fatigue to the firestop system. The design provides for both 1 and 2 hour wall assemblies and is positively attached via power-actuated fasteners or screws, eliminating the reliance on surface adhesion.
The Firestik™ profile also can be installed as early as top track installation, reducing mobilization and labor required for existing systems.
