Presenter: Warren Barber, CSI CDT
Warren Barber is the manager of technical marketing for National Gypsum Company, based in Charlotte, N.C. In that role he manages National Gypsum’s technical messaging and technical marketing strategies. He has been involved with the development, sales and marketing of construction materials for nearly 20 years, primarily to the AEC community. During that time he has conducted architectural and contractor training throughout North America, the Caribbean, Mexico, UAE and Qatar.
Presenter: Benjamin Glunz, AIA Associate
Architect turned BIM technologist, Benjamin Glunz, founder and CEO of Anguleris Technologies, is a high energy entrepreneur with a passion for BIM technology. Focusing on BIM content strategy for building product manufacturers, Glunz and his team have led the development of hundreds of best-in-class strategies for global BPMs across multiple verticals. Glunz has helped to reshape the way building product manufacturers think about BIM, most notably through brands such as Sherwin Williams, Valspar, Moen and 3M. Leading the charge in BIM configurator technology, Glunz is the inventor of the emerging BIM content cloud platform, BIMsmith, www.bimsmith.com. From all angles he relentlessly pursues the next incarnation of intelligent, user friendly BIM content.
Presenter: Paul Godwin
Paul Godwin has 20 years of experience in commercial drywall construction. He joined the Houston branch of Marek in 2006 and now manages the central estimating department, which provides estimates for all of Marek’s seven branches. Marek is a 78-year-old drywall company with annual sales in excess of $300 million. In 2010 Marek instituted its BIM program from within the central estimating department. This group has now transitioned into a full time BIM division that currently employs six dedicated modelers. Godwin is also tasked with research and development for BIM and field technology. He speaks with architects, general contractors, and software companies concerning BIM’s overall outlook as well as Marek’s deliverables.
Presenter: Vladislav Grishaev
Vlad graduated from the USMP Peru-Lima University in 2009 and has been with Daley's Drywall & Taping for over six years. He took interest in virtual design after working in several different position in the company and now leads the virtual design department. He has worked on a number of projects including a 56 floor height residential building in San Francisco, hospital universities, and is currently working on three residential buildings.
Presenter: Robert Grupe
Robert Grupe is the interim director, technical services for AWCI. He spent more than 38 years with United States Gypsum Company where he held various technical and management positions. Activities included product and system design and technical consultation to the AEC community. He currently is a consultant to the construction community where he has worked on several large scale international construction projects. He has authored numerous articles and given presentations on fire, sound, and environmental issues as they relate to wall and ceiling assemblies.
Presenter: David Keane
David Keane works at Baker Triangle Prefab as a VD&C Specialist/Project Engineer. He has a Construction Engineering Technology degree from the University of North Texas in Denton, TX. David started out as a VD&C Intern with BakerTriangle in 2012 and returned to accept a full time position in the BIM Department in August 2013. Baker Triangle started their prefab division shortly after and David has worked as a project engineer since the division began. David has lead several coordination projects recently including Seguin High School Expansion and Renovation, Sheraton Hotel in Georgetown, and United Regions Hospital in Wichita Falls. He has also worked designing exterior finished wall panels for several projects including McCamey Hospital in McCamey, TX, Medical Center of Arlington, and Aloft/Element Hotel in Downtown Austin.
Presenter: Mike Murzyn
Michael is the Technical Product and Marketing Manager for cold-formed metal framing manufacturer, ClarkDietrich Building Systems. He was a key developer in the company’s Building Information Modeling (BIM) Revit® add-in ClarkDietrich Wall Type Creator®, ClarkDietrich's web site and SubmittalPro system. Murzyn is dedicated to help develop, educate and simplify the technology driven innovations for the Architectural, Engineering and Construction industry with more than 20 years of experience in design, engineering, product, and software development of the steel industry.
Presenter: Andrew Price
Andrew is a project designer at Hunter Douglas Architectural and is their in-house BIM expert with nearly a decade of experience. Prior to joining the Hunter Douglas team, he was the senior project coordinator for SmartBIM, LLC and oversaw the BIM content development division. He developed highly parametric and intelligent models for the leading manufacturers to be utilized by the AEC industry.
Presenter: William Tang
William graduated from Texas A&M University in 2011 and has now been with Baker Triangle over 4 years. He took a particular interest in Visual Design and Construction and Building Information Technology, and now assists in leading the department. He has worked on a number of projects including The New Parkland Hospital, UT Southwestern Medical Center, and currently Texas A&M Kyle Field Renovations.
Presenter: Michael Vickery
Michael is the Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President at Baker Triangle. Michael has more than 35 years of experience in the commercial construction industry. He has been instrumental from the inception of Baker Triangle's early embracement of Visual Design & Construction, BIM, and continues to assist in their Integrated Project Delivery projects. He has also attended more than 24 continuing educational seminars focusing on this ever - changing culture shift within the commercial construction industry.
