The recipient of AWCI’s 2020 Excellence in Construction Quality Award in the Stucco category is California Drywall for their work on Cal Poly yakʔitʸutʸu Residential Community, San Luis Obispo, Calif.
“Applying a stucco exterior system across a seven building, 29-floor, 562,000 sf dorm project on an occupied college campus was very complex, demanding and time sensitive. Universities are all competing to attract the best possible students with great facilities. Making a strong first impression is really important. By exposing student activity throughout the new student housing complex, Cal-Poly showcases the energy of life to parents and prospective students, while creating architecture that enhances the experience, helping students form connections with each other early on. “
