Foundation White Paper on LEED Is Available

The new white paper in the Research Series of the Foundation of the Wall and Ceiling Industry, “LEED® v4: Redefining Design, Transforming Contractors,” is a 21-page document mailed to all AWCI members at the end of August. This marks the start of the Foundation’s annual fund-raising drive.

Publications like this are made possible because of the monetary support from members.

“LEED® v4: Redefining Design, Transforming Contractors” brings to light the latest and most significant impacts on contractors including requirements for commissioning. This is a process that provides the owner another layer of oversight in the structure’s design, construction and operation. The process starts before the design stage and continues well beyond the construction phase. This means contractors are answerable not only to the authority having jurisdiction over the project, but also a commissioning authority or agent must be present. The commissioning process may include testing on completed work to assure performance requirements are met.

Anyone who matches (or exceeds) their prior year’s donation or new donors who make a gift of $325 or more to the annual drive will be acknowledged as a member of the Foundation Leadership Council. Recognition will be promoted in AWCI’s Construction Dimensions, AWCI Members Only and on signage at AWCI’s Convention.

Donations are not required; the publication is a benefit of membership in AWCI. Contact Annemarie Selvitelli at [email protected] or (703) 538.1608 if you did not receive your copy.
