The EIFSmart Contractor seal is a recognition awarded to companies that are committed to quality workmanship in EIFS installations. The company demonstrates its merit and commitment through EIFS education and certification. Once EIFSmart Contractor eligibility requirements are met, the company agrees to adhere to a Code of Ethics.
"Our selling point is, we are an EIFSmart contractor. This is very reassuring for a GC or owner because they know we know what we're doing."
Matt Fleck, Corporate Secretary, Flack Exterior Systems, Inc
Each company location or subsidiary that installs EIFS and is applying for the EIFSmart Contractor seal must have:
If non-company personnel are used, the company can verify an individual’s certification status by going to the National Certification Roster or by calling 703-538-1612.
If a company has more than one location performing EIFS installations, each location must have a separate list of certified EIFS employees. Locations designated by AWCI as EIFSmart Contractors may not share AWCI-certified employees.
Educate at least 40 percent of your EIFS workforce in the correct, generic procedures of EIFS installation using AWCI’s EIFS—Doing It Right® program. The 40 percent requirement includes all mechanics and supervisory personnel used on the project, whether they are full-time employees, subcontracted employees, subcontractors or independent contractors.
At least one AWCI certified employee must be at the management level, and there must be an AWCI certified foreman for each project.
Verify that your employees meet the pre-qualifications for their category of certification.
EIFS Mechanics and EIFS Industry Professionals must take the EIFS—Doing It Right® online course. Once all required course modules and assessments have been completed, the participant will be awarded an EIFS certificate valid for five years.
Questions? Call 703-538-1612.
AWCI has established Codes of Conduct for certificate holders for each of the programs. There is also a Process for the Resolution of Complaints should any be brought against certificate holders.
Certificate holders will be listed on the National Certification Registry on AWCI’s website and will receive a wall certificate. In addition, they will be able to use the logo associated with their category of certification on promotional materials, and they are authorized to use designations after their name to recognize their achievement and communicate it to others:
