AWCI has received a few questions about our plans for AWCI's Convention & INTEX Expo due to the coronavirus. We are moving forward as planned and anticipate another outstanding event!
Current registrations are very strong as we are ahead of the past two years and on par with the last time we were in Las Vegas in 2017. We have only had two cancellations by exhibitors. Both were from China and indicated that they would not be able to secure their visas to travel to the United States.
AWCI will be providing antibacterial hand sanitizer dispensers onsite in the registration area and antibacterial wipes for the self-serve registration iPads. At this time, experts have indicated that the common flu is likely more of an issue than coronavirus and recommend that you prepare as you would for cold and flu season. The World Health Organization recommends respiratory etiquette (sneezing or coughing into you arm) and hand hygiene. Masks are of course optional, but are not considered necessary for healthy individuals with no symptoms.
We do not anticipate any issues related to coronavirus and are moving forward as planned. However, if the situation should change dramatically we will continue to communicate with all AWCI Convention & INTEX Expo attendees.
If you have any questions, please contact AWCI Director of Convention & Conferences Karen Bilak at firstname.lastname@example.org
