The Northern California Drywall Contractors Association and the Drywall Information Trust Fund announce the winners of their annual Design Contest. Each year, NCDCA contractors submit their best commercial and/or residential projects, and a team of judges—architects from the American Institute of Architects—review each project to determine a winner.
The following won first place awards:

- General Contractor: University Construction Co., Inc., San Jose, Calif.
- Lead Architect: Stastny Brun Architects, Inc., Portland, Ore.
Residential Project: Montalvo, Saratoga, Calif.
- Commercial Project: California/Fox Theater, San Jose, Calif.
- Drywall Contractor: Raymond Interior Systems – North Concord, Calif.
- General Contractor: Swinerton Builders, San Jose, Calif.
- Lead Architect: ELS Architecture & Urban Design, Berkeley, Calif.
