AWCI’s Excellence in Construction Innovation Award

AWCI’s Excellence in Construction Innovation Award was created last year to recognizes products, services, materials, technologies or systems that improve the means and methods utilized in the wall and ceiling industry. This year, the first time this award is presented, the winning innovation met several of this award’s criteria:

• The winning innovation helps contractors improve productivity.

• It enables wall and ceilings contractors to increase their scope of work

• It helps reduce the amount of materials used and construction costs.

“It” is On Center Software’s Digital Production Control 3.8, project management software that integrates the takeoff and estimating process and lets you know if the job is on target.

Introduced in late 2010, On Center Software’s innovation shows you actual work-in-place compared to your estimated labor budget. When things aren’t going right, the software sends up red flags that instantly alert the user.

When the job is done, if your crews made good use of On Center’s award-winning software, you’ll find that problems were spotted early—in time to fix them, costly overruns were avoided, and worker productivity was up.

For bringing innovation to the wall and ceiling industry, for helping AWCI member contractors to run a more successful business, AWCI honors On Center Software with AWCI’s first Excellence in Construction Innovation Award.
