“All new employees are required to attend our new-hire training, which includes fall protection, scaffolding, PPE knowledge and use, HAZCOM, fire prevention, inclusion, harassment policy, incident reporting procedures, hand and power tools, ladders and stairways, disciplinary policy, first aid procedures, communication of jobsite hazards, electrical safety and roles and responsibilities of each employee. They are then tested to ensure comprehension of the training. All employees are required to do pre-employment drug testing and are subject to random drug testing or reasonable cause drug testing. Within the first week, regional safety managers talk with new employees to ensure no other questions have arisen since their original orientation and ensure the employee has their regional safety manager’s phone number. This conversation is also used to identify any additional training needs for that new employee, which is recorded and tracked within our safety software system.”
