BlazeFrame Industries has expanded its offerings to include RSP (Rib, Seal, Pocket) technology in its safeTrack family of bare metal slotted, deep leg deflection and perimeter framing profiles. Used in combination with safe-T-seal brand of intumescent caulk, these next generation profiles provide a base for the “SAFE75 System” providing third party (UL and STC) certified economical solutions to caulk seal at uneven substrates, framing butt joints, bypass cutouts and overexposed metal covering any smoke, acoustical or fire rated (up to 2 hour) joint conditions.
RSP technology forms a protective pocket and guide for consistent quantity of “pre-caulk” requiring only a fraction of traditional sealant while creating a joint seal behind perimeter joints. The continuous rib technology seals against overlapping wall sheathing protecting against traditional wall cavity leakage caused by buildup of intermittent framing fasteners. Once installed, applying a “caulk gasket” in protected recess of safeTrack reduces sound and thermal transfer issues experienced by exposed bare metal systems. Several additional benefits of RSP innovation include early unobstructed application of caulks in protective pocket along substrate sealing flanking paths while allowing for finished architectural “shadowline” or painted reveals.
Unlike any other framing system, the safeTrack design allows caulk sealed systems unencumbered 100% deflection capabilities with no lifetime fatigue or additional buildup. Inclusion of RSP technology in the framing enables narrow installed joints to accommodate deflection requirements up to 3/4".
