AWCI Announces New Officers

New leadership was elected by members of the Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry during the association’s Industry Executives’ Conference & Committee Meetings event held in San Antonio at the end of September.

    

Beginning July 1, 2019, AWCI’s president will be Nancy Brinkerhoff. Brinkerhoff is CEO, president and CFO of Ironwood Commercial Builders, Inc. in Pleasant Hill, Calif. She will be the first female president of the 100-year-old trade association for ceiling and wall contractors, suppliers and manufacturers.

    

Chip McAlpin, division president of F.L. Crane & Sons, Inc. in Florence, Miss., will serve as AWCI’s vice president. F.L. Crane & Sons, a lifetime member of AWCI, is also an AWCI EIFSmart contractor.

    

Serving as treasurer will be Shawn Burnum, vice president of operations at Performance Contracting, Inc. in Grandview, Mo. PCI, an employee-owned company with more than 60 offices nationwide, serves the industrial, commercial and non-residential markets.

    

Elected to the secretary position is Travis Vap, president of AWCI lifetime member South Valley Drywall, Inc. in Littleton, Colo. South Valley Drywall has won many awards recognizing their quality work in the commercial and residential markets.

    

The executive officers’ terms end June 30, 2020, when McAlpin, Burnum and Vap will move up in the chairs and Brinkerhoff becomes AWCI’s immediate past president.

    

Robert Perricone of Component West, Inc. in Las Vegas was elected to serve as a contractor at-large on the AWCI board of directors from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2022. Founded in 1964 as Score Carpentry, Inc., today the company is one of the premier drywall and acoustical specialty contractors in the United States. The firm has offices in metropolitan New York, Boston, Central New Jersey, Washington, Philadelphia, Las Vegas and Southern California.

    

Jay Watt, director of marketing for National Gypsum in Charlotte, N.C., was elected to serve as a supplier at-large on the AWCI board of directors from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2022.
