AWCI Assists with Modifications to New York City Building Codes

The City of New York has proposed a modification to its building code to essentially eliminate the use of combustible materials on exterior cladding. The new requirement is seen as a ban on the use of exterior insulation and finish systems in the city. AWCI co-signed a letter with the EIFS Industry Members Association and other interested associations in an attempt to dissuade this move. Meetings are being held with the interested parties to determine next steps.
