This small project—5,000 square feet for the Bailey’s Fine Jewelry store—presented Precision Walls, Inc. with some big challenges. An aggressive schedule combined with multiple trades working in the same small place meant Precision Walls had to coordinate schedules with the other trades to make sure the high-end finishes were delivered on time. Receiving materials in time to accomplish major milestones also required great teamwork.

The focal point of Bailey’s is the sales floor. It consists of seven different types of trim for more than 1,000 linear feet throughout the sales area. In addition to material lead times, the layout of the trim as well as identifying where each specific piece was to go was crucial. With several types of trims and colors, the details can become congested with notes and easily be lost in translation. When you don’t have the luxury of being one of the last trades to complete a project, you have to get creative. With extensive planning done at the beginning to locate the different trim types and colors, the Precision Walls team was able to ensure all their layout, radius and serpentine points were correct the first time.

Planning ahead allowed Precision Walls to focus on the next most difficult aspect of the job: ensuring that the blocking was laid out and installed correctly for the trim installed on the wall. While the trim had a specific layout to follow for aesthetics, the blocking that it would attach to was equally important—if not more. The exterior walls where this trim was installed also consisted of two layers of drywall and required copious amounts of blocking and coordination to ensure a quality finished product.

Congratulations to Precision Walls for making Bailey’s Fine Jewelry shine.
