Completed in 13 months, this largest student housing project in the United States involved a unique structural system for the nine 4-story buildings totaling 1,258,000 square feet. The structural system used precisely designed cold formed steel panels and trusses combined with HSS steel posts. BIM, along with the lower cost of the lightweight steel, resulted in a novel approach to designing, engineering, manufacturing and assembling a multi-unit structure that was faster, higher in quality, greener and less expensive than any other system in the construction industry.
