FWCI Empowers the Next Generation with a $7,500 Donation to CIEF

The future of the wall and ceiling industry relies heavily on cultivating the talent of tomorrow. Recognizing this critical need, the Foundation of the Wall and Ceiling Industry (FWCI) made a powerful statement at AWCI’s Industry Leaders Conference in Indian Wells, California, presenting a $7,500 donation to the Construction Industry Education Foundation (CIEF).

This vital contribution is specifically designated to fuel CIEF’s workforce development programs, hands-on trades initiatives, and educational pathways. By supporting these tools, the donation directly helps equip the next generation of construction professionals for successful careers in the built environment.

Addressing the skilled labor gap requires dedication and meaningful partnerships. CIEF serves more than 17,000 students annually through its programs, offering hands-on learning, scholarships and career exploration initiatives designed to help address the skilled labor shortage. During the conference, Jason Manion, Southwest regional manager for CIEF, accepted the check and emphasized the impact of the contribution.

“This support from the Foundation of the Wall and Ceiling Industry is a testament to the importance of the work being done to introduce young people to careers in the construction trades,” said Manion. “Investments like this allow us to continue providing impactful programs, mentorship and resources to ensure students are fully prepared to enter and succeed in the modern workforce.”

Lee Zaretzky, president of FWCI and president of Ronsco, Inc., echoed this sentiment, highlighting the foundation’s commitment to the industry’s longevity. “The Foundation is dedicated to the future of our industry, and that starts with supporting the institutions that train our future workforce,” Zaretzky noted. “We are honored to contribute to the Construction Industry Education Foundation and support their vital mission of preparing skilled professionals for rewarding careers in the built environment.”
