For the purposes of the following policies: “AWCI” means the Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry; “Event” means any meeting, conference, webinar or other event that AWCI organizes and conducts; and “Registrant” means any individual who is registered to attend an Event or who attends an Event.
Code of Conduct
Registrant agrees to abide by the following while attending an Event:
- Conduct themselves in a manner consistent with AWCI’s mission, which is connecting people in the wall and ceiling industry to innovate, grow and succeed.
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations related to the Event, including without limitation health and safety codes, anti-terrorism regulations and fire regulations. To remove any doubt, Registrant agrees to comply with all antitrust laws, including AWCI’s antitrust policy, which Registrant acknowledges has been given access to review attending the Event.
- Not to create any unreasonable disturbance to other attendees, such as excessive noise or offensive smells. Registrant further agrees to silence mobile devices for the duration of each Event session and to conduct any side conversations outside Event session rooms.
- Refrain from disorderly behavior, including intoxication or drug use.
- Refrain from taking photographs or making video or audio recordings during Event sessions without obtaining AWCI’s prior written permission.
- To be mindful of the safety of others, including not attending if experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness, and to report any dangerous situations that Registrant observes to AWCI, venue staff or other appropriate authority.
- Refrain from “suitcasing,” which is the practice of “working the aisles” by soliciting business, or distributing or displaying promotional materials, at an Event when not under a contract with AWCI to be a sponsor of or exhibitor at the Event.
If AWCI becomes aware that a Registrant refuses to abide by the above or is otherwise jeopardizing the integrity and purpose of the Event, AWCI reserves the right to revoke the registration and require Registrant to leave the premises immediately. Furthermore, AWCI reserves the right to prohibit the Registrant from attending future AWCI Events.
Accessibility and Accommodations
AWCI is committed to making Events accessible to all participants and will provide reasonable accommodation to individuals with disabilities upon written request.
Image Release
By attending, Registrant consents and authorizes AWCI to use such photographs or recordings, which may include Registrant’s name, image, likeness and company affiliation, in AWCI’s promotional and archival materials without payment of any kind. This consent and authorization does not include permission for AWCI to record a presentation if the presenter has executed a speaker agreement that expressly excludes such consent.
AWCI Annual Convention—RFID and Event Technology and Disclosure and Consent
AWCI reserves the right use RFID (radio-frequency identification) technology during its annual convention to track attendee movement into and out of the exhibit hall. The use of RFID technology does not affect your ability to access the Event or its sessions. This information is associated with your registration and is used by AWCI to:
- Analyze traffic flow and engagement throughout the Event
- Improve future Event experiences
- Support exhibitor and sponsor engagement efforts
If you do not wish to consent to the use of RFID technology, please contact AWCI in writing before the Event for available alternatives, if any. Otherwise, by registering for and attending the convention, you consent to the collection and use of this information for the purposes described above.
Badge and Access
Registration is only to be used by the original purchaser, and unauthorized resales may be invalid. Badge sharing, reprinting, or use by anyone not registered is strictly prohibited. Entry is not guaranteed for late arrivals. Registrants may be subject to security searches, and AWCI reserves the right to refuse entry or eject individuals for violating venue policies. Registrants agree to display their official Event badge when provided for entry to the Event and at all times while in attendance.
Event and Reschedule or Cancellation
Each Event is subject to rescheduling or cancellation as determined by AWCI. Please consult the Event website, marketing materials or AWCI staff for the applicable registration cancellation policy. If you are unable to locate such a policy, you may email [email protected] to inquire about the applicable policy.
In the event that AWCI cancels or reschedules the Event because of a directive from the host venue, or for reasons beyond AWCI’s control, including but not limited to an act of God, disaster, fire, war or threat of war, terrorism or threat of terrorism, civil disorder, threat to public health or safety, curtailment of transportation facilities, labor dispute, government regulation, government shut-down, or executive order (a “Force Majeure Occurrence”), AWCI will not be responsible for refunding registration fees or reimbursing Registrants’ expenses.
Assumption of Risk
By registering and attending an Event, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with such Events and venues (such as crowds, physical activity, weather, and venue conditions). Accordingly, AWCI, the Event sponsors and the venue are released from liability for claims resulting from these assumed risks, except where prohibited by law. Furthermore, Registrant assumes full responsibility for any damage done to the premises and property during the Event (reasonable wear and tear excepted), but only to the extent such damage is caused by the Registrant.
