Everything AWCI accomplishes is fueled by the dedication of our incredible volunteers. Before anything else, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the industry professionals who donate their time, energy and expertise to our boards, committees and councils. You are the engine of this association, and your hard work directly impacts the success of our entire membership.
As a prime example of this leadership, I invite you to turn to pages 24 and 35 to meet the outstanding individuals who make up the AWCI Board of Directors and the Foundation Board of Directors.
AWCI is comprised of diverse professionals from across our industry, representing contractors, manufacturers and suppliers of all sizes from every corner of the United States. Together, we collaborate to share knowledge, exchange ideas, create premier educational experiences and develop technical guidance for the good of our organization and the entire industry.
Our boards and committees are powered entirely by volunteers. They work tirelessly to develop the materials, documents and educational sessions designed to help you do your job better.
I want to shine a particular spotlight on the Codes and Technical Council, chaired by Megan Washnieski, South Valley, and its dedicated committees. Focusing on critical sectors like EIFS, stucco, ceilings , firestopping and fireproofing, steel framing and gypsum, these volunteer subject-matter experts are constantly developing indispensable resources.
Because of their hard work, AWCI’s library now features a visual guide on ASTM C1861, a comprehensive ceilings inspection checklist, inspection guides for delegated design and non-structural framing and drywall installation, a stucco and drainage planes technical document and so much more (www.awci.org/resources/technical-resource-library).
While our technical committees build these hands-on, go-to resources for our website, our Education Committee, chaired by Scott Bleich, HRTLND, works to connect the dots. They bring this vital information to life at BUILD: AWCI’s Convention + Expo, the annual Industry Leaders Conference and through our year-round webinar series.
The committee actively solicits relevant topics and top-tier presenters, vetting ideas and curating content so you walk away with the practical knowledge your business needs to thrive. They cover the full spectrum of our industry, including employee health and safety, the latest innovations in AI, succession planning, data center construction and more.
While AWCI has many committees working behind the scenes, these are just a few highlights of what our informational and educational experts have in store for you.
We are incredibly grateful to you, our members, for your continuous input on the topics and resources you need most. And to our volunteers who generously donate their time and expertise to make it all happen—thank you.
