The model must identify each room, locate its name on the plan or finish schedule, then differentiate walls from the windows and doors that interrupt them. Single-click wall detection with AI Extrude Walls: For accent walls, specialty wall coverings or any scope that calls for a more targeted approach, the AI Extrude feature runs a precise takeoff on individual walls with a single click and no manual tracing.
Finish-type pattern detection: Pattern detection sees flooring finish types across the floor plan and groups quantities by material.
Ceiling tile counts from reflected ceiling plans: RCPs are converted into ceiling tile quantities based on grid layout and tile specifications. Estimators input the tile and grid size; Bobyard handles the count.
Room areas and gross area detection: Bobyard auto-detects room boundaries and returns area, dimensions and finish groupings for each space.

What’s coming next for wall and ceiling?
The current release is the foundation. The near-term roadmap for wall and ceiling contractors is focused on closing the remaining gaps between drawing upload and finished bid:
Room height detection: Automatic detection of room heights from drawings or schedules, removing the manual height input currently required for wall area calculations.
Opening deductions: Automatic deduction of door and window openings from wall and ceiling area calculations, so material quantities reflect actual scope without manual adjustment.
Out-of-the-box material libraries: Pre-built material and assembly libraries for wall and ceiling scopes, so estimators don’t have to build pricing databases from scratch for every project.
Auto-matching with materials and assemblies: Detected wall types and finish patterns matched automatically to corresponding materials and assemblies in the estimate table—closing the loop between takeoff and pricing without manual mapping.
Gross internal and external area detection: This will support conceptual bids where whole-building estimates are the first priority.
