Hammer Driver-Drill

Makita U.S.A., Inc. has released the 18V LXT® Compact Brushless ½" Hammer Driver-Drill Kit (XPH16T, 5.0Ah battery and charger included with kit). The hammer driver-drill features increased power for a range of drilling, driving and hammer-drilling applications.

The XPH14 is available in a kit (XPH16T) with two 5.0Ah batteries (BL1850B) and a Rapid Charger (DC18RC). It is also available in a new 2-piece combo kit (XT296ST) with the 18V LXT® Impact Driver (XDT14), two 5.0Ah batteries (BL1850B), and a Rapid Charger (DC18RC).

The ½" Hammer Driver-Drill features a Makita-built brushless motor that delivers up to 970 in. lbs. of Max Torque for up to 70% more power. The electronically controlled brushless motor efficiently uses energy to match torque and RPM to the changing demands of the application. The variable 2-speed design (0–550 and 0–1,800 RPM), (0–8,250 and 0–27,000 BPM) covers a range of drilling, driving and hammer-drilling applications.

The XPH16 features a compact and ergonomic design at only 6 7/8" long and weighs only 4.9 lbs. with 5.0Ah battery. The hammer driver-drill features a rubberized soft grip that provides increased comfort on the job and features dual LED lights to illuminate the work area.

For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls™. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita® 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside.
