Join Us in Participating in Safe & Sound Week, August 10–16

The Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry (AWCI) invites all members, wall and ceiling contractors, manufacturers and industry partners to join us in participating in OSHA’s Safe & Sound Week from August 10 to August 16.

Safe & Sound Week is a nationwide campaign held every August to recognize the successes of workplace safety and health programs and to provide practical, field-ready resources to keep workers safe on every jobsite.

Three Pillars of an Effective Safety Program

Participating in Safe & Sound Week helps organizations strengthen the three core elements of a comprehensive workplace safety framework:

  1. Management Leadership: Establishing safety as an uncompromised core value from upper management down to jobsite supervisors.
  2. Worker Participation: Empowering crew members to actively report hazards, suggest improvements and participate in daily safety planning.
  3. Proactive Hazard Identification and Assessment: Finding and fixing jobsite hazards before they lead to injury or illness.

How Your Organization Can Participate

  • Take the Pledge: Demonstrate your company’s commitment to jobsite safety and worker well-being.
  • Host Jobsite Toolbox Talks: Spend 15 minutes each day reviewing critical trade-specific safety topics, including fall protection, scaffold safety, silica dust exposure, heat illness prevention and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Recognize Safety Champions: Highlight crew members and supervisors who consistently uphold exemplary safety practices.
  • Inspect Jobsite Operations: Perform structured jobsite walk-throughs to evaluate controls and correct potential risks.
