The Texas Lath & Plaster Contractors Association (TLPCA) recently held its annual convention, where leaders and members addressed key issues like labor shortages and the growing Texas construction market.
A major focus of the convention was workforce development, with the Foundation of the Wall and Ceiling Industry stepping forward with a $5,000 donation to support scholarships for students pursuing construction careers. This scholarship initiative, which will receive a portion of the funds raised from the TLPCA’s live auction, aims to get students directly from graduation into jobs in the trades.
In addition to the scholarship fund, the live auction raised an impressive $32,000. The remaining funds will be used to purchase a fully-stocked cargo trailer with tools and supplies to support high school outreach programs.
