Each committee is comprised of volunteer leaders from within AWCI member companies whose efforts are critical to the success of the association, and an AWCI staff liaison who provides guidance and support.

The Codes and Technical Council seeks improvement in all wall and ceiling industry materials, systems, equipment and assembly methods. Working with other industry groups, the council develops technical specifications, standards of practice and documents, in addition to proposing recommendations to building codes and industry standards.
The Union Contractor Council disseminates information of unique interest to signatory contractor members. The council facilitates discussion and other means of exchanging labor relations information among signatory contractor members.
The Chapter Executives Committee exchanges member program ideas and discusses issues relating to chapter management and member issues at the local level.
The Continuing Study Committee shall discuss long- and short-range plans for AWCI and the industry in response to topics assigned by the president and/or chief executive officer; review and make recommendations on select AWCI and industry activities; recommend new AWCI and industry activities; and review and study the AWCI’s governance structure and make recommendations.
The Education Committee is responsible for identifying potential topics and speakers for the Industry Leaders Conference, BUILD: AWCI’s Convention + Expo and educational webinars.
The Emerging Leaders Committee provides insight and guidance about how the AWCI membership experience should evolve to meet the needs of the next generation of industry leaders. The committee works alongside other AWCI committees to develop resources and content that engage their peers and nurture industry professionals along their career path.
The Finance Committee reviews and approves the draft budget for the coming fiscal year and submits it to the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors for its consideration and approval. The Committee also reviews and accepts the annual audit and reports its recommendation to the Board of Directors. The Finance Committee is empowered to examine all books and financial reports of the AWCI. The certified public accounting firm retained by the Executive Committee shall report to the Finance Committee and to the Board of Directors.
The Industry Awards Committee establishes the decision criteria and implements those criteria for selecting recipients for the Excellence in Construction Quality and Excellence in Construction Innovation awards.
The Nominating Committee nominates qualified candidates for each elective office and for each at-large position on the Board of Directors, which becomes vacant at the end of the fiscal year and shall report its recommendations to the Board of Directors.
When requested, the Past Presidents Committee serves as an advisory body to the president, Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
The Pinnacle Award Committee establishes the evaluation criteria and selects the recipient of the Pinnacle Award.
The Safety and Health Committee researches, develops and shares industry best practices to improve safety for member companies and their employees. The committee will assist in the development and planning of online, virtual and in-person safety initiatives, including those affiliated with AWCI’s annual events.
The Supplier and Manufacturer Committee provides input to help shape the association’s mission and represents the interests relating to supplier and manufacturer members.
