AWCI on the Job

Join Us in Dallas for AWCI’s Doing It Right® Seminars at Academy 2012

Academy and the Doing It Right® seminars are teaming up Jan. 23–26, 2012, in Dallas to create a powerful four day educational opportunity!

Over the four days the following seminars will be offered: Steel—Doing It Right®, Stucco—Doing It Right®, Ceilings—Doing It Right®, Gypsum—Doing It Right®, and a one day management seminar, “Are You a Project Manager or a Project Witness?” (See below for more information on the Doing It Right seminars.)

Registration for each seminar will be on an individual basis, so you can craft your own learning experience. Visit www.awci.org/academy.shtml for registration details.

AWCI’s Academy is designed for estimators, safety specialists, senior management, field superintendents, project managers, architects, specifiers and emerging construction executives. Do not miss this opportunity to enhance your skills for today’s jobs in the construction industry.

AWCI’s Doing It Right seminars were developed for owners and upper and middle management—project managers, foremen and estimators. Each seminar was developed under the guidance of an expert oversight group made up of contractors and manufacturers.

Foundation White Paper Has Been Mailed
The Foundation of the Wall and Ceiling Industry has published a new white paper in the Research Series. Called “Cost of Cold-formed Steel Products—Mines to Job Site,” the 22-page document was mailed to all AWCI members at the end of August. This marks the start of the Foundation’s annual fund-raising drive.

“Cost of Cold-formed Steel Products—Mines to Job Site” informs wall and ceilings contractors about the price of base steel used in the fabrication of cold-formed steel framing and how contractors can now minimize their exposure to price fluctuations and control their costs. This report is the 11th publication in the Foundation Research Series. Publications such as this are made possible because of the monetary support received from AWCI members.

Those who donate for the first time and give $250 will become a member of the Foundation Leadership Council, as will those who match their contribution from last year. Those on the council are recognized on the Foundation’s letterhead as well as in various promotional materials, convention signage and other publications throughout the year.

Donations are not required of AWCI members; the publication is a benefit of membership in AWCI. Nonmembers who are interested in receiving a copy of this document can download it from http://store.awci.org/cgi-bin/awci for a $25 donation to the Foundation.

Contact Annemarie Selvitelli at selvitelli@ awci.org or (703) 538.1608 if you did not receive your copy or if you have any questions.
