In Memoriam: Patrick D. Finley

Patrick D. Finley, the general president of the Operative Plasterers’ & Cement Masons’ International Association of the United States and Canada since January 2007, passed away April 10, 2016, at his home in Morrisville, Pa. He was 64.

    

Finley, who worked in the cement mason trade and served the local in various positions, had a long union construction career that included many highlights. In September 2009, he was elected a member of the AFL-CIO Executive Council. In October 2009, he was elected a member of the American Income Life Insurance Company’s Labor Advisory Board, and in April 2014, he was elected as a member of the Bank of Labor Advisory Board. In August 2014 he was elected once again to serve as the OPCMIA’s general president. In 2015, the DC Friends of Ireland named Finley Labor Leader of the Year.
