Challenge Accepted

The exterior of the building was originally designed to be clad with portland cement plaster, thin brick veneer and composite metal panels, but an exterior insulation and finish system that incorporated the look of the other claddings was selected for its obvious advantages.

With so many different colors and texture, mockups and layout were critical to the work done by Applied Restoration Inc. Shop drawings were created to coordinate between the architect’s details, the waterproofing consultant’s details and with the EIFS manufacturer’s details and system requirements.

One elevation had the creative brick finish with a stacked pattern and two separate colors. The brick pattern had to be laid out with field dimensions between each set of windows. These dimensions were then taken to the ARI warehouse where rolls of stencils were cut, matched, numbered and boxed to be installed in a specific location.
