AWCI’s 2025 Pinnacle Award
Mike Taylor, CEO of Liddle Brothers Contracting Inc. in Nashville, Tennessee, was honored with the Pinnacle Award, the highest distinction given by the Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry (AWCI), at BUILD25: AWCI’s Convention + Expo in Charlotte, North Carolina this past April. This prestigious award recognizes an AWCI member for exceptional, selfless service to the association, the industry and their company.
Taylor served as AWCI’s president during the 2016–2017 term and has been actively involved in the association’s programs and committees for many years (see sidebar). His long-standing dedication to AWCI has earned him widespread admiration from his colleagues. “He’s incredibly approachable and has taken a personal interest in mentoring the next generation coming up through AWCI,” said Scott Casabona, a long-time friend of Taylor’s. As a new ambassador for the Emerging Leaders Program at BUILD25, Taylor helped guide the 2026 class, introducing them to key industry contacts and sharing his valuable insights and expertise.
Taylor’s impact goes beyond his people skills, as Nancy Brinkerhoff points out: “He’s also very business focused. He’s looking at AWCI’s long-term sustainability and how its programs and initiatives meet the evolving needs of its members.” Taylor is deeply committed to AWCI’s core mission—to help members succeed—and he sees this as a priority that will continue for many years to come: “That’s the sole purpose of AWCI, and I don’t ever want to lose sight of it.”
However, Taylor emphasizes that helping members succeed goes beyond just contractors. He believes manufacturers and suppliers also play a crucial role in educating members about new products, technologies and installation methods through seminars, expos and conventions. “They support us, so we need to support them,” he says.
As chair of the Continuing Study Committee, Taylor’s dedication to the industry and AWCI is clear. “He listens well, provides constructive feedback and always treats people with respect,” said Jeff Dreisewerd, AWCI president-elect. “It’s been a great experience working on initiatives with him.”
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Taylor is a devoted family man—husband, father, son, and brother—and an active community advocate. His hobbies include fishing, hunting and golf, but his true passion lies in baseball. Though he doesn’t play, Taylor is a major league to little league baseball fan. Liddle Brothers is the longest-running sponsor of the local Little League team in his hometown of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville, where the company provides funding for equipment, supplies and uniforms. “It’s a small gesture, but it reflects the civic-minded philosophy we embrace,” Taylor says. “It’s an important part of what we’re all about.”
