AWCI’s Strength Is Its People

As my term as president of AWCI ends, I want to sincerely thank the members, volunteers and staff who make this association such an important part of our industry.

It has been a real honor to serve in this role. Like many of you, I came up in this industry learning on the job and working alongside good people who taught me what it means to do the work the right way. That experience has stayed with me throughout my career and made this opportunity especially meaningful.

Over the course of this year, I’ve had the chance to see AWCI at work in many ways—through events, education, safety initiatives and conversations with members across the country. What stands out most is the strength of our people. AWCI continues to be strong because of members who care deeply about this trade, about their companies and about helping move the industry forward.

I’ve written this year about several important priorities for AWCI, including safety, education, leadership development and creating more visibility for women in construction. Those efforts matter and they will continue to help shape the future of this industry. But what makes AWCI valuable has not changed. At its best, this association brings people together to share knowledge, support one another and strengthen the wall and ceiling industry as a whole.

I also want to recognize the AWCI staff for the work they do every day. Their professionalism and commitment are a big part of what keeps this association moving in the right direction. I’m equally grateful to our Board of Directors, Executive Committee, chapter leaders, committee members and volunteers for their time and service.

Most of all, I want to acknowledge our members. Your participation, support and willingness to stay engaged are what give this association its strength. Whether you contribute through leadership, education, mentorship, sponsorship or simply by showing up and staying involved, you help move this organization and this industry forward.

As I pass the torch, I do so with a lot of confidence in the future of AWCI. This is a strong association with committed staff, strong leadership and members who care deeply about quality, safety and the future of the wall and ceiling industry. I look forward to seeing it continue to move forward in the years ahead.
