BUILD26: Not to Be Missed

As we transition into the second quarter of the year, March and April represent a critical stretch for AWCI. Our staff has been working tirelessly to prepare for BUILD26: AWCI’s Convention + Expo, and I want to personally thank them for the energy and meticulous attention to detail they bring to this event. World-class conventions do not happen by accident; they are the result of intense planning and behind-the-scenes coordination to ensure the experience is truly valuable for our members. I am confident BUILD26 will be one of our best yet, and I look forward to seeing many of you there.

This convention is designed to be worth your time, whether you attend to sharpen technical knowledge, connect with peers or explore products that help your business run more efficiently. We are especially excited about the new Demo Lab, a 45-minute technical showcase where you can see practical methods, materials and best practices in action. If you are looking for takeaways you can apply to your business on Monday morning, this is an essential stop. I also want to recognize the exhibitors and sponsors who make BUILD26 possible. Their continued support strengthens the association and helps AWCI deliver the resources our members rely on throughout the year.

In this issue, you will see a spotlight on women in construction, highlighting their vital involvement in our businesses and across the industry. AWCI will continue to champion the many talented women in our trade—in the field, in the office and in leadership roles. This industry is full of opportunity, and we all benefit when we support the next generation entering the wall and ceiling trade.

Education remains a core focus for AWCI, and our programs must stay current with how the industry evolves. We are proud of the updated Steel—Doing It Right® education program released in January, and staff is currently developing a plan to update and enhance our Project Manager course. Training is the most direct way we can support contractors and help teams improve performance, consistency and results.

In my first nine months as president, I have seen incredible momentum: events that create genuine value, volunteers who contribute their time and members who care deeply about the future of this organization. AWCI is a strong association, well-positioned to deliver great things in the years ahead. Thank you for your engagement, your professionalism, and your commitment to this industry. I look forward to seeing you at BUILD26.
