Acoustic Insulation with Post-Consumer Recycled Carpet

CarpetCycle is closing the loop on carpet recycling with the creation of Quiet-Tech, an acoustic carpet insulation made from 85–90% post-consumer recycled materials. With nearly 4 billion pounds of carpet entering the waste stream each year, CarpetCycle is diverting waste from landfills by creating a sustainable, acoustic insulation solution for commercial buildings. Closed loop recycling is a key component of the new circular economy, striving to reduce landfill waste and conserve natural resources.

Quiet-Tech features 85–90% post-consumer recycled materials (repurposed inorganic carpets, organic cotton clothes and PET fibers) that do not contain formaldehyde, making it easy to handle and safer for installation. In addition, it holds a Class A fire rating, contains no VOCs, and is mold and mildew resistant.

Beyond its sustainability and safety benefits, Quiet-Tech insulation has an impressive acoustical performance and is easy to install. Quiet-Tech can improve Sound Transmission Class by 9 points and has a Noise Reduction Coefficient rating of 0.95. For use in metal or wood frame construction, Quiet-Tech’s friction fit insulation batts provide ease of installation without the need for fasteners and adhesives.

Recognizing the importance of eco-friendly building construction, Quiet-Tech insulation meets all requirements for the UL GREENGUARD Gold certification for ultra-low chemical emissions and contributes to commercial LEED and WELL credits, ensuring it supports health and well-being in all buildings.
