Cordless Cut-Out Tool

Makita® has released a new 18V cordless solution for drywall contractors with the 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Cut-Out Tool (XOC01M). The XOC01M is powered by the Makita 18V 4.0Ah battery for longer run time and the fastest charge time in the category, and is engineered to deliver the power and performance of a corded cut-out tool—without the hassles of a cord.

The 18V LXT® Cut-Out Tool has the performance and run time to keep up with the high productivity standards of drywall contractors. In internal testing, the XOC01M made up to 100 cuts into 1/2" drywall on a single charge of the 18V 4.0Ah battery.

The XOC01M is powered by a Makita-built motor that delivers 30,000 RPM for fast drywall cutting. The slide switch with lock-on and slim body design are engineered for user comfort. It accepts both 1/8" and 1/4" bits, and for added convenience the on-board bit change capability eliminates the need for a wrench. The vent slots direct air and debris away from the operator.

For improved tool performance and extended battery life, the XOC01M features Star Protection Computer Controls™. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, overdischarging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18V LXT® and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside.
