Growth Mixed for ISA Members in September

The October ISA Economic Indicator Report from the Industrial Supply Association showed mixed results for manufacturers and distributors during September.

The ISA Manufacturer Index decreased to 63.3 in September compared to 67.2 in August, while the ISA Distributor Index rose to 72.4 in September from 71.2 in August.

For each index, a reading above 50 percent indicates expansion, while a reading below 50 percent indicates contraction.

“Although results were mixed for ISA members in September, this report shows that manufacturers and distributors remain in an expansionary business cycle,” said Bryon Shafer, general manager of ASG Industrial and chair of ISA’s Strategic Information Committee.
